On our Project Linus Blanket Buzz pages, we display different events from across the country. Here you can read about and see where Project Linus blankets are made by volunteers and/or distributed to children in need.
We welcome your submissions to Blanket Buzz! To submit, please send us an e-mail and attach any pictures you would like for us to include.
Please Note: If you have several pictures then please let us know beforehand so that we can be watching for them.
The 2002 Humanitarian Awards were announced at the Illinois State Medical Alliance Annual Meeting in Oak Brook Illinois. Mrs. Mary Balagna was recognized for her achievements in the member category. A member of the Macon County Alliance, Mary is also the National Vice President and the Central Illinois Chapter Coordinator of Project Linus. Project Linus is a non-profit organization which makes and distributes blankets to emotionally and physically traumatized children. Especially notable is how Project Linus responded to our Nation’s tragedies. Several blankets were sent to Columbine High School following the shooting rampage by students. More recently, blankets were sent to New York and Washington, DC after the September 11 terrorist attacks. Mary’s leadership and devotion to Project Linus makes it a continued success.
