Project Linus Blanket Buzz
Jan 31, 2005

The Lakeside Linus Club was established in October 2003 as part of the Kids Caring Committee. Ten students met with Linda Stichtenoth for eight weeks, learning the basics of quilt-making while helping children in need. All quilts made by the Club were then donated to Project Linus.

The participating students were honored at an all-school assembly on January 15, 2004. They were especially thrilled to personally give the quilts to Kathleen Miller, Project Linus Greater Cincinnati Chapter Coordinator. Ms. Miller informed the 450 attendees that one of the quilts featuring construction vehicles would immediately be presented to a boy admitted to Children’s Hospital with cancer.

Lakeside continued its commitment to Project Linus by participating in national Make-a-Blanket Day in February of 2004. Students, teachers and parent volunteers made as many blankets as possible for donation.
