Central Utah

Project Linus Blanket Buzz
Jan 25, 2005

Greg Harris has become a source of pride for the Project Linus chapter in Central Utah. To earn his Eagle, this dedicated Scout volunteered for Project Linus. Not only did Greg make several blankets himself, but he organized a donation drive and blanket-making day.

Greg and his Scout group sent flyers to several local neighborhoods, alerting friends and neighbors that the Scouts would be collecting blanket-making supplies and monetary donations for Project Linus. One Saturday was spent going door to door, gathering fabric, yarn, batting and other blanket-making items.

Once the items were collected, Greg organized the materials into blanket-making packets. On June 26, 2001, seventy-five men, women and children met at a local church and stitched, tied, and bound together over 150 blankets.

Greg and Project Linus were featured on a local television news program, For Utah, A Source of Pride. We recognize Greg Harris for his achievement, and applaud his hard work!
