Project Linus Blanket Buzz
Jan 31, 2005

Linda Kirby, Central Illinois Project Linus Chapter Assistant and Blanketeer has been involving her granddaughter and friends in blanket making by teaching them to knit. At this knitting session, Linda is instructing granddaughter Meghan (9), Meghan's friend Megan (9) along with Megan's mom Cheryl Hughes. Megan continues to be an avid "blanketeer" - hosting several Make a Blanket Days with her mom in their home with friends and their moms. Megan joined the ranks of blanket recipient when she broke her arm and had surgery on it in 2002. Meghan has also been an avid blanketeer, regularly attending Make a Blanket Days and learning to quilt and knit. In this picture she is sporting a full length leg cast and as a result also became a blanket recipient - but still insisted on attending her knitting session. It is always such a pleasure to see our veteran blanketeers teaching the younger blanketeers who will eventually "take over the ranks."
