Project Linus Blanket Buzz
Aug 22, 2005

Judy Walter, coordinator of the Project Linus chapter in Carroll County, Maryland, recently wrote to tell us about the enthusiastic group of students at North Carroll High School. Two of the girls were students in Judy’s class, but it was not long before the after school Project Linus meetings grew to 25 kids! These dedicated youngsters work around other club meetings, driver’s education classes and sports events to create some of the quilted comforts shown at right. They have even been joined by a young adult who dropped in to get Project Linus information for her “Mom’s Group!”

An article in the local paper prompted one woman to donate fabric from a crib quiltmaking business to the school’s Project Linus club. “She said it was the ‘answer to her dreams’ for a finding a use for the leftover fabric,” Judy says, “But she was the answer to our dreams! In addition to making blankets for children in need, working with Project Linus assures us that there are good people out there!”
