Welcome!

Vital Statistics (as of Sep 30, '08)Thank you for visiting the Project Linus National Headquarters web site! We are glad you are here and hope you take some time to explore.

One of our most popular areas is our “Patterns / Links” page. Here you will find many free patterns for making blankets and quilts. You will also find links to other websites that feature items of interest for the quilter or “blanketeer” (blanket maker).

Be sure to also check our “Chapter Listings” page to locate a chapter in your area where you can donate blankets and/or other resources.

The Project Linus Mission

Project Linus is comprised of hundreds of local chapters and thousands of volunteers across the United States. Each volunteer and local chapter all work together to help us achieve our mission statement, which states:

First, it is our mission to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.”

Second, it is our mission to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children.

Together we have distributed over three million blankets to children in need since our inception in 1995.

Help! I Married a Quilter

New to our online store is the hilarious book, Help! I Married a Quilter, by Mark Hyland. Here Mark writes about 17 years of marriage to an avid quilter from an outsider perspective. He exposes the idiosyncrasies and jargon of quilting from a non-quilting perspective, recognizing the love and dedication quilters have for their art.

Order a copy today, and help us at the same time! The author has generously agreed to donate a portion of the proceeds for each book to help Project Linus. Click the book cover to be taken to our store where you can place your order.
